JGSA General Rules/Guidelines:
Players: U6 – 3v3 (no GK); U8 – 4v4 (no GK); U10 – 5v5 (GK)
Field Size: U6 20x30; U8 30x40; U10 40x50
Field layout: The penalty area is identified by a semi circle, instead of the traditional rectangle due to small sided format. In U6 & U8, since there is no Goal Keeper, this is a no go zone for defenders. In other words, no goal tending in this area. In U10 this is the penalty area since you will have a Goal Keeper.
Restart of Play: Throw ins or kick ins from touch line due to smaller playing field; Goal kicks from Goal Line; Corner Kicks from corners; PK’s taken from top of arch or designated spot; All fouls are direct free kicks.
Substitutions: Free subs anytime when play is stopped.
Match Duration: U6 – (3) 10 minute periods; U8 – (2) 20 minute periods; U10 (2) 25 minute periods.
Ball Size: U6 & U8 (size 3); U10 (size 4)
Referees: Until further notice, each Coach will officiate the game taking turns at each period. Remember that development & sportsmanship are our first priority, not winning.
